Membership - Martin and Hilary Young

 

Martin has had bikes since he was 16; his list in order of ownership includes Honda SS50 moped, CZ 250, Honda CB250, Yamaha YR5 350, Honda CB750F2, Suzuki GS850, Suzuki X7 250, Norton Commando 850 Mk II Interstate, Suzuki GS750 (stolen),  a gap  then Suzuki RF900 x 2 (both written off), a Honda NC30 then BMW R1100S for track days, and currently: BMW R1150RT and R1200S.

As a result of the “written off” events, Martin joined Coventry and Warwick IAM and became an observer for a time.

Then, one day in late 2005, Hilary was chatting to a work colleague, and the subject of motorbikes came up. He mentioned the PEMC – he, Mike (Storey), had been a very active member – with great enthusiasm, and so Martin’s Christmas present that year was joining the PEMC.

We soon began going to turnups and holidays, and after helping organise midweek turnups for two or three years we took the opportunity to fill the Membership Officer role.

It’s a very friendly club, and to anyone looking at this and thinking of joining - give us a go, you won’t be disappointed!
