PEMC Motorcyle Touring Club

'Ride in Good Company'

Enjoy the freedom of motorcycling?
Like to meet new friends?
Want to ride to new locations with like-minded people?

Then this is the club for you!

The PEMC is a national Motorcycle Touring Club open to anyone who enjoys motorcycles. It was formed by a group of enthusiasts who wanted to organise events and biking holidays together.
Today, the club has over 300 members with a passion for Bikes, Riding and Good Company.
There is a wide range of events organised by members, for members, not for profit which makes the PEMC events, especially European tours, excellent value.

Tours Organised

We take pride in the value and quality of our trips. European tours can be from 5 to 14 days, sometimes longer. Hotels are normally booked by a member organiser on a half-board basis, which allows socialising during the evenings. Hotel details and itineraries are provided, but there are no prescribed routes (sometimes suggestions), and no ride leaders. Members often ride in small groups but you can always do your own thing and meet up with everyone else in the evenings.

PEMC is not a 'travel agent' and there is no support van, so each member needs to arrange appropriate insurance, breakdown cover, ferries and routes to and from tour destinations.

Our events include:

  • Great Value UK and European Tours

  • UK & European Short Breaks

  • Mid-Week and Sunday Turn-Ups

With over 100 events a year, there is something to suit everyone and members are always coming up with new ideas. There is also the monthly club newsletter Lineswapper which includes review of recent events and club activities - always an interesting read!

We love to welcome new members, so if you’re interested, please click the 'Join PEMC' button below.

For some events like midweek turn-ups, you don’t need to book, just arrive at the venue around 12.00 noon for a bite and a natter. For trips where catering or an overnight stay has been organised you will need to book through the member's section of our website.

Many club events quickly become fully subscribed so members check the events section frequently and book promptly! As a member you'll have full access to the club events, information, forum and resources including:

Club Events

All club events are organised by members. Each booking is essentially at cost price save for a little added to cover the Club running costs. Bearing in mind the quality of our events, this represents excellent value for money, which probably explains why they get booked up so quickly.

Organisers

Members are encouraged to organise an event if possible. Loads of help, from concept to detail, is available from Officers and others if you need it – just ask and we’ll be happy to help! If you have any ideas for an event please contact the Chairman in the first instance.

Club Trophies

The Peter Ashdown Trophy (in memory of a founder of the club) is awarded to the member who has attended most events during the year. The highest scoring new member will receive the New Members Award and a £75 credit towards events.

The Robin Farmer Trophy (in memory of a founder member) is awarded at the Cobweb Run (usually held on the  first Sunday in January) to the member who rode the furthest distance on the day to attend the event.
